Portrait sesh

Well on rainy days like today I tend to get extremely bored, so today I decided to take some more self portraits. Enjoy

Up to speed

Well I have done quite a good amount of shooting over the last couple weeks and sense my school finally called a snow day I finally have some time to upload! Over the last couple weeks of skiing I made some new ski friends, spent time with family and met up with friends from out of town. We haven't had the best weather at Schweitzer so I took advantage of the shootable days. My friends were up from Spokane so they put my back yard and horse pasture to use by building some jumps while they had the room. We had a great weekend! Heres a few shots to sum up my last couple weeks, enjoy!

Sophomore Finalist!

I am pleased to let all who are reading this know that previously I entered the 32 Annual Photographer's Forum Magazine Photo Contest and a couple months ago I received a letter informing me that I had been chosen out of 18,000 other photographs from other high school students to be taken into the finalist round where they would then choose the top four and a hundred honorable mentions. On Monday I was checking my email and noticed I had gotten an email from the magazine confirming me as a finalist saying that my name and photo would be printed in the hardback edition of the Photographer's Forum Magazine that would be coming out at the end of June.
I am stoked out of my mind! I called my parents from my class room sharing my excitement with them and my sisters. That night I posted my accomplishment to my Facebook status of corse and got off for the night.
I got on the next day to 57 notifications about people liking and commenting on my status congratulating me and telling me how proud they all were. I would like to thank all of them for being so confident in me especially my sisters Sammy Jo and Liz for being so stoked and wanting me to do it in the first place along with my journalism III teacher Mr. Love who talked me into entering the contest. I am so excited! The topping to all my excitement was the comment I got from Professional Ski Photographer Tim Sorenson congratulating me on my accomplishment and to keep up the good work. Tim Sorenson is the editor of the Poor Boys Productions online magazine and has taken amazing ski photos which is what I am hoping to do when I am out of school so it was really awesome to me for him to congratulate me. So yeah I am pretty stoked on life and am really confident in my photography.
I believe sense I took this photo last year my photography has improved quite a bit and I have plans for more contests and hopefully getting some more photos out there. Well here she is my nation wide finalist photo.

This photo I took was of my friend Christian it was posted a while ago on my blog as well.
